140db

140dB was established in 1987 and was based on the idea that young engineers and producers who were gaining their first production breaks needed full-on one-to-one support as well as individual strategic marketing separate to that of the studios. Along with that was a more aesthetic goal - to proactively track down bands that were fresh and new and music that genuinely excited us rather than be satisfied with any old traffic which came our way. It was probably this combination of (call them naive!) ideals and business planning which made the fledging 140dB a very attractive proposition to young producers and bands alike. In time, 140dB became known for some of the most groundbreaking projects of the 80's and 90's and Noughties.
